As Director of Performance at St Catherine’s College, Cayenna works closely with students, staff, and alumni to support a vibrant musical culture within the college. She offers one-to-one performance guidance, group conducting lessons, and oversees the college’s music prizes and performance opportunities.

Cayenna’s approach to the college’s musical life is informed by her research in the social psychology of orchestral performance. Drawing on her work on performer communication and participation dynamics, she encourages the formation of student ensembles, free-improvisation groups, and musical theatre productions. Through her support of individual musicians and their ensembles, she helps students develop a more intentional, collaborative, and socially engaged approach to performance.
